Temple of Julius Caesar Templum Divi Iuli sits on the site of the funeral pyre of Julius Caesar. Augustus had the structure built after the battle of Actium. Today one sees several portions of the foundation. It is thought that the altar on which Caesar's body had been cremated was in the center of a platform in the temple.
