RISI nescio quem modo e corona, 1 A fellow in the crowd made me laugh just now:
qui, cum mirifice Vatiniana 2 when my dear Calvus had drawn out in splendid style
meus crimina Caluos explicasset 3 his accusations against Vatinius,
admirans ait haec manusque tollens, 4 he lifted up his hands in wonder, and
'di magni, salaputium disertum!' 5 "Great gods," says he, "what an eloquent manikin!"
