Camenis

Livy reports (Ab Urbe Condita 1.19) that Numa, in acknowledgement of their divine inspiration of his kingship, dedicated this grove and spring on the Caelian hill, with its accompanying rites, to the Camenae, the Latin nymphs of springs and fountains who later came to be identified with the nine Greek Muses.
