GAIVS VALERIVS CATVLLVS

This web-site provides the user with the Latin text of Catullus and a facing translation. The text and translation come from old editions that are out of copywright, though I have made minor modifications to the translation. There are also notes on some of the characters that turn up in the poems. You can go through the collected poems either by using the scrolling numbers at the top, or by clinking the words "Previous" and "Next" at the start of each poem. Each poem is linked to its Perseus version, which will provide lexical and grammatical links.

I started this web-site at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, during the summer of 1998. I was attending a Work-Shop there sponsored by the VRoma project and the National Endowment for the Humanities. It was there that I learned how to create this web-site, and I would especially like to thank the following people for their help:
