Welcome to Latin AP at Paul VI Catholic High School!
The Latin AP program is offered to those students seeking
the study of Latin at a college level while in the high school environment. The
texts are Pharr's Vergil's Aeneid, Boyd's Vergil's Aeneid: 10 &
12, A Student's Latin Grammar, and AMSCO's Workbook in Latin Three
and Four Years. An inherent part of the Paul VI Latin curriculum is
participation in competitive testing. Competition includes, but is not
limited to the National Latin Exam,
the Medusa Mythology Exam, Monmouth
College's Bernice Fox
Contest, the Classical Association of Virginia's Classical Essay and Latin
Essay Contests.
Vocabulary and grammar drills, matching, and concentration games are among the items found at the Latin IV/AP Page.
Extra curricular activities include the Paul VI Latin Honor Society and the
Paul VI Junior Classical League.
