On the left, the mother nurses her infant son while the father looks on and later holds his toddler son (smaller version). In the center, the youth rides in a chariot drawn by a goat (smaller version). On the right, the slightly older boy, holding a scroll, recites a lesson before his seated father, who also holds a scroll (smaller version). Mother, father, and son all appear to have portrait faces.
